Dr. L. earned her Masters, Doctorate and PhD at the International Quantum University for Integrative Medicine in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. She holds a degree with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in Rehabilitative Medicine.
She earned a certificate of completion for physicians in the Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine from the Performing Arts Medical Association and American College of Sports Medicine. She has done extensive post graduate work in PEMF Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy. Dr. L. completed comprehensive PEMF training from the PEMF Training Academy facilitated by the world's expert in PEMF, Dr. William Pawluk MD.
Dr. L. has a special interest in protecting top performers in the performing arts and athletic world. Her dissertation : Anger is the Primary Emotion that Motivates Top Performers showed that this demographic needs to learn how the interplay of the performer's anger and the negative fallout from this for their health can be made more positive. This demographic of the population is very vulnerable and more prone to the self-destructive effects of prolonged anger.
Dr. L. is currently rewriting her dissertation into a book that will be titled: "The Double Edged Sword of Anger. How anger motivates and destroys top performers"
Dr. L. has been severely injured many times during her life, so personally understands how injuries can impact one's emotional, mental and physical well-being. First hand experience is a great educator.
Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is a largely neglected technology, already in therapy use of over 70 years. (Farinas, 1951) In medicine, PEMF technology is most commonly used in the areas of orthopedics, wound healing, pain, and depression.
The first basic principle of electromagnetism to understand is that all life, including plants, animals, and human beings, evolved on a planet that is a giant magnet of its own. All the processes that make us functional as human bodies are part of, interact with, and are dependent upon the magnetic fields around us.
When we are deficient in electromagnetic energy, or when there is insufficient electromagnetic energy around us to help us with the health condition we are dealing with, aging accelerates, illness is more likely, and our body's ability to recover and repair is decreased.
PEMFs can be used to improve or optimize many cellular and body functions and rapidly and safely reduce the effects of cell and tissue injury. In addition to acting to reverse or slow the progression of loss of cell function, where injury has progressed to the stage of irreversible damage, PEMFs have been shown to help to varying degrees with tissue repair (Dindar et al., 1993)
PEMFs penetrate through all biologic tissues, equally well, unlike other technologies, such as laser, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound. This ability of PEMFs to penetrate all the way through an entire volume of tissue, including the whole body, is what makes them, not only safe, but also practical and simple to use, alone or in conjunction with any other therapies.
The body's electrical and electromagnetic fields frequently, and perhaps continuously, need to be in balance to maintain optimal health.
Psychoneuroimmunology or (PNI) is the science of the interactions of mind and body, the indissoluble unity of emotions and physiology in human development and throughout life in health and illness.
The ways that the psyche, the mind and its content of emotions profoundly interact with the body's nervous system and how both of them, in turn, form an essential link with our immune system.
The mind body connection is very important in the path to wellness. Science has advanced our understanding of how emotions and physiology interact to affect health.
